Video Game Birthday Party Ideas : A Super Mario Bash. Want a really unique birthday theme that's perfect for gamers and video game lovers? How about a video game Mario birthday theme!

This idea is for any age person that loves Super Mario. It could be for kids, teenagers, or even adults who still love to play their classic Super Mario games.

Constantly playing in the background would be music from all the Mario games you can find(these could be found pretty easily online and burned onto a CD, or you could make a playlist and blare it on the computer, whatever suits the situation).

You could put up decorations of characters like Mario, Luigi, Bowser, and other characters in the series.

If it's possible where you hold the party, setting up a Mario course that's similar to one that might be found in one of the games would be tons of fun.

Sturdy tables, boulders, and even people dressed up to be 'enemies' waiting to attack or be touched first by the player are some ideas, but of course, it all depends on what you have to work with-be creative!

After everyone has a go on your course, you could have a Yoshi pinata filled with Mario themed toys and candy, and a cake shaped like a 1UP mushroom or a giant cupcake, so it's 3D, if you'd like.

You could have Mario games set up on your consoles and computers, maybe even have a tournament to see who at the party can get the best score! If you want, have prizes for getting as far into the competition as possible, such as snacks or a Mario game for first place if possible (probably a better idea only if you have enough for everyone so no one gets upset).

And if everyone's up to it, maybe it could be a costume party, and everyone can dress up as a Mario character. It could be picked at random, or everyone could come as whoever they'd like to be.

All kinds of party games with Mario character's faces on it would do, like pin the tail on the Bowser! Tug of war with a character on the flag! If everyone has a bike, maybe they could have a "Mario Kart" kind of race! There are many possibilities, just use your imagination.
