Unbirthday Party

A wonderful birthday party idea would be an Alice in wonderland themed party. Or better yet a Mad Hatters Very Merry Unbirthday Party! I have been wanting to have a themed party like this for over a year now and now is my chance! It's coming up in a month and I've been busy getting ready for it. I feel that at any age this kind of party theme would be appropriate for young girls and up.

The table and decorations could be very simple or as elaborate as you wanted. Try finding a long table and covering it with a vintage table cloth and then finding mismatched cups and saucers for guests to dine on. Don’t forget the numerous teapots to have also on the table too!

Other décor for the table could include:

Various sizes of glass bottles in different colors (blues, greens, pinks etc..)

Fake or real flowers (whatever you fancy) in bright bold colors or pretty pastels

Old skeleton keys or any type of vintage looking keys scattered about on the table (can be found sometimes at your local craft store)

Playing Cards scattered about on the table too always looks wonderful

Just let your imagination run rampant on these types of things. Bring out the Alice in wonderland book and refer to the pictures in it to give you more ideas. Make signs that say “this way to wonderland” out of poster board or foam. Buy some metallic poster board in silver to make a giant mirror for guests to “step through”.

I know that on the invitations I always thought that having little plastic bottles with “read me” tags on the outside and the invite rolled up inside would be darling.

Along the lines of food you can make a dinner party out of it or just have finger foods .. Think cupcakes and cookies with “eat me” written in different colors of icing. Tea sandwiches (all types) many a recipe to find on the internet! Little snack cakes, etc...

In the line of games I think that painting the roses red ,is an excellent party game ! Go to your local dollar store and grab a few bunches of white roses and buy some red paint at the craft store. Split up into teams and see who can paint the white roses red the fastest! Just remember to have fun with it all!
