Matt's Tiki Birthday Invitation
Tiki Birthday Party Ideas: For a tiki birthday party, make sure the theme is obvious the minute your friends open the invitation envelope. You can use tiki heads, tiki huts, flip flops, or anything with a tropical island feel to it. Trust me, they won't want to miss this celebration. I used tiki heads for my husband's birthday invitation.
When planning the menu you will have to consider just how elaborate you want the party to be. Just make sure the basics are covered.
Have a well stocked bar set up so that guests can easily make their own island style drinks, complete with bright colored swizzle sticks, little umbrellas and fruit garnishes. Keep light snacks on or near the bar area.
If you choose to serve a meal, consider favorites like grilled chicken, fish and vegetables. Throw some pineapple on the grill as well. Offer rice as the perfect side dish.
For dessert of course you will serve birthday cake! Match your cake to your invitations to carry through with the theme. Fruit and ice cream are another dessert option, and are especially good when served together.
More fun ingredients to throw into your menu are mango, papaya and coconut.
