Themed Las Vegas Birthday Parties: For my husband's 50th birthday, I wanted to plan a party that had a theme that he would really enjoy. One of his favorite hobbies is going to the local casino and he loves Las Vegas. So rather than have his birthday there, I decided to design a casino night at our house.
The casino birthday party theme was a unique party, fun to set up, and would be easy for anyone to recreate!
We have a large living room that was the perfect space for the casino. I moved out all of the furniture, and set up cocktail rounds and card tables. I put a midnight blue table cloth over each table, and set them up as stations for card games: blackjack and poker.
I decorated the tables nicely so that it looked like a real casino in Las Vegas. I also bought a few small roulette wheels (not expensive at a local party store). I bought lots of poker chips, so that an equal amount could be given to all guests when they arrived.
Everyone dressed up in swanky suits and sleek cocktail dresses. I had my teenage kids dress in tuxes, and they acted as the waiters, passing out hors d'oeuvres to our guests. I asked some co-workers from work to come and act as our card dealers for the night. They were great! So entertaining to our guests.
Everyone began with equal amount of chips. The guests played with these chips throughout the night, and at the end of the night could redeem their chips for fun prizes that I had bought beforehand, and had displayed on a long table.
