Teddy Bear Picnic birthday party ideas : We held this birthday party for my daughter at a local park laden with trees and had set up a quintessential picnic on the ground (and a separate table for the parents)!

Children received invitations that began with the lyrics to teddy bear picnic. They were then asked to dress their best and bring their favorite teddy bear with them to the party.

The picnic was complete with a white an red table cloth to cover the ground a large picnic basket filled with cucumber and butter sandwiches, peanut butter and jelly, lots of fruits and veggies.

I had gone to the thrift store and purchased over sized hats and gloves for the girls and ties for the boys to add to the whimsy of it. The children were permitted to choose a hat or tie from another basket before sitting at the picnic site.

We brought a radio and began the picnic with the theme song and incorporated other simple kid songs onto the mix. They look so sweet almost as if attending a high tea!

They even started to play the part, becoming quite serene as they had their lunch. Expect exceptional behavior from the teddy bears too!

After lunch, the children joined the adults at the picnic table for the craft. Each child was given a small jar of honey, which I had prepared ahead of time by filling baby food jars with honey and cover the lid with fabric and ribbon to secure it.

The craft was for each child to decorate a small tag with their teddy bear's name and then attach that through the pre-punched hole through the ribbon onto the jar.

While the kids were busy crafting my husband snuck little teddy bears onto the picnic site where they had been eating, each of these bears had a tag with the child's name on it. It was a big surprise!
