Let me give you a guess on what the most romantic birthday gifts for her could possibly be.

It starts with a d and end with a d. Figured it out yet?

That's right, as Marilyn Monroe said, "Diamonds are girls best friend" and when you throw in a diamond, a brand new car, a surprise birthday party, and an engagement proposal it's hot, hot hot!

The only birthday party I have really planned was my wife's birthday party. It was also the day I proposed to her.

I talked with her supervisor in the office and she agreed to help. On her birthday, the supervisor would ask her to work late so I would have time to prepare after I finished work.

I ordered flowers and chocolate and had them sent to her office at 10am that day. At 5 o'clock that afternoon, I told her I would have had to work late that day and promised to give her a wonderful birthday present when I got home.

But I actually went to pick up the ring right after work. Everything went well that day. I went home after picking up the ring and the birthday cake, and started the decorations.

Thanks to her sister's help, I could finish all the decoration and hung the banner that wrote "will you marry me?" on the ceiling.

The idea was that the friends and family would shout out "SURPRISE" when she opened the door and turned on the light(this does not sound new, I know). When she walked toward the living room, she would pass a table that we put behind the couch.

The string would be triggered by her and the banner would drop down with the words. At that time I would show up behind the banner and proposed.

It all went perfectly as planned. She was startled by the surprise party and stunned to tears (happy tears) by the banner. The night went exactly as I had hoped for and she agreed to marry me.

We had cake, buffet, and drinks prepared for all the guests. Her 28th birthday party turned out to be our engagement party as well. Her supervisor showed up, congratulated her, and told her that there was no need to work late that day.

The birthday present I gave her was not only the diamond engagement ring but also a new car that replaced her 10-year-old car.

If I could, I would suggest every one who is going to have birthday party to have someone capable of designing a party like my wife's sister to help you out. Without her, the party couldn't have gone so smoothly.
