Pirate Crafts for Birthday Party Make Pirate Eye Patches

Pirate crafts are a fun addition to a birthday party. A good activity for the beginning of the pirate birthday party is having all of the kids make a pirate patch.

Before the party take black construction paper and cut circles out that are large enough to fit over a child's eye. Cut out enough eye patches so that every guest will have one. Cut out a few extras in case anyone loses or rips theirs.

Once they are all cut out, take a paper punch and punch two holes on either side of each eye patch. This is for attaching the yarn later.

Set the patches out on an activity table along with white markers, gel pens designed for dark paper, liquid whiteout and stickers with a pirate theme. If you want to get very creative also supply glitter, black feathers from a craft store, and cut-out shapes of skulls and crossbones.

At the beginning of the party have all the kids make their pirate eye patches. When they're done, string black yarn through the holes and tie the patches around their heads.

Aaargh. Ready made pirates!
