My daughter decided she wanted a kids glow in the dark birthday party theme for her 10th birthday. Everything was neon and glow in the dark! We had the girls make shirts when they got to the party, they wrote on plain white t-shirts with glow in the dark paint and markers.
We also gave them glow in the dark necklaces and bracelets to have fun with. They then went down to our basement that we had cleared out for the party. We had decorated it with a strobe light and a black light up on the walls.
The girls had each brought their own rollerblades over so they put those on and turned up the music. After a while the girls got hungry so we decided it was time for the cake.
The cake was decorated in fluorescent colored frosting and had 10 candles on top that glowed in the dark. After the girls rested for a bit we had them go out to our barn where we had spray painted boards and walls with glow in the dark paint; we also had put multiple black lights up. Here is where they played laser tag.
The girls each had their own tagger gun and their own sensor on their body vest. The goal of laser tag is to hit your opponent’s sensor by aiming and shooting your tagger gun at it. You lose when all your lives have been used and you win when you are left with at least one life at the end of the game.
The glow in the dark party was a lot of fun, it was simple to get together and you can visit almost any party supply store and find everything you need right there. A glow in the dark party can be used for any age, all you need to do is find different games to play or things to do for the appropriate age.
*Tip: The laser tag guns and vests can be pricey. Our son and his friends all had them and they were nice enough to let us borrow them for our daughter's party. Check with friends to see if they have the guns and vests. You should be able to piece together enough for the party!
