Ideas for a Medieval Themed Birthday Party

I've gathered up lots of ideas for a Medieval themed birthday party from my job. At the museum where I work we have a three day Medieval themed camp each year and I think the combination of some of the crafts and games would be perfect for a medieval birthday party.
The camp was aimed at ages 8-13 but all of the activities could be modified for any age group. We had several craft projects: making armor, building castles and designing jewelry.
Medieval Birthday Party Craft Projects
Armor Making To make armor, we gave each child 2 pieces of poster board in black or grey and basically just let them figure out how to make their own armor.
We provided some pictures of armor and made a few examples but it seemed like the kids enjoyed designing their own. We also provided poster board so they could make a helmet and shield.
Castle Building For the castle building, we began collecting containers and boxes and cans of all kinds (ex: yogurt containers, cereal boxes, coffee cans, egg cartons, etc) for the kids to make their castles out of.
We also provided a sheet of cardboard for them to build on (roughly 2 ft.x 2 ft). They needed little help with this project and just went to town designing their castles.
Medieval Jewelry Craft For jewelry, we bought small wooden shapes (circles, diamonds, squares) and used colored hot glue gun sticks to decorate them. After they cool you can glue pin backs to turn them into pins.
Game Ideas for a Medieval Birthday Party
The goal of the camp was essentially to 'knight' the kids so the games we played were part of their 'training'. We had several target games where we provided a target board made of felt and wiffle balls with velcro on them so they stick to the board.
We also had an obstacle course with a mote (bucket of water) to jump over, dragons to knock over (stuffed animal dragons knocked off a bench with jousting stick), and last they had to fight the knight.
For this last part, we made a fake knight by stuffing some old clothes with newspaper and making armor for him and set him on the left side of a low (3 ft) stone wall (we made our wall out of a spray painted tv box). We had the kids hold their jousting sticks (pool noodles with large wooden dowels in them) in their right arms and charge towards the knight staying on the right side of the stone wall. Their goal was to hit the knight with the stick and knock him off his perch.
At the end of the camp, we had the 'king' knight them and give them certificates of their knighthood. If it is not possible to do all of these activities at the birthday party, I think any combination combined with a castle themed cake would make a fantastic medieval themed birthday party for kids.
