Halloween Birthday Party Ideas

Halloween birthday party ideas: My birthday is on Halloween, so as a young child, I always had Halloween as an option for a birthday party theme, and sometimes, I still do! My mom took up this idea on my ninth birthday, and it was definitely a great party.

We did several different arts and crafts that involved aspects of Halloween. One craft that we did involved some fun with baking. My mom made sugar cookies prior to the party, and used a cookie cutter to shape the cookies into hands.

She bought small, orange flower pots, and we filled them with chocolate chips as pretend dirt, and placed the sugar cookies into them, to create a fun but creepy treat.

We also made another fun treat, involving plastic gloves. We took five pieces of candy corn, and placed one in each finger of the glove. We then popped some popcorn, and stuffed the popcorn into the glove.

We also created a game that we called "Brains & Eyeballs". We cooked spaghetti and placed it into a pot, then placed a few grapes in the pot. Each kid had to close their eyes and dig through the spaghetti, "brains", and try to find a grape, "eyeballs". Whenever someone picked up a grape, they won a prize.

The highlight of the night was definitely the cake. We made a chocolate bunt cake, filled it with chocolate frosting, then covered it with orange frosting. We then took an ice cream cone, placed it into the top, and covered it with green frosting. This created a delicious pumpkin themed cake.

Of course, we included some traditional party games into the night, such as pin the tail on the donkey, and other fun childrens games. If your celebrating a Halloween birthday party, feel free to try out some of these ideas! Happy Celebrating!
