Disney Princess Birthday Party 1

A few years ago I hosted a Disney Princess Birthday Party for a friend's eight year old daughter, Alexa. She is a bit obsessed with Disney Princesses, so, a princess themed party was the most appropriate event for her birthday.
In order to host this event with the best outcome I searched for the perfect venue. I finally settled on a children's dress-up shop to rent out for the party. The name of it has slipped my mind, but in this store the children were able to try on any and every dress the shop had.
These dresses were not Disney Princess styled, but they looked and felt like royalty! These beautiful dresses amazed the girls and they had so much fun playing "dress-up" in a real store.
Disney Princess Birthday Parties Decorations
I also purchased Disney Princess decorations for the dress store. Of these decorations I had a variety of princess plates. They had each individual princess and the princesses' "friends" from the movies. I also included a plethora of princess napkins, cups, and confetti.
To make the location extra fun I had a custom banner made for the little girl. It had "Happy Birthday, Alexa" printed across with the Disney Princesses surrounding the letters. Ariel (The Little Mermaid) is her favorite princess, so I had the first "A" in her name made in the shape of Ariel's body. When she saw the banner her eyes lit up and a huge smile appeared on her face.
Disney Princess Birthday Cake
I wanted her to have the best princess cake any girl could ask for, so I went to every bakery and cake shop within driving distance. Ingles grocery store had the best selection of princess cakes, and I had them design a Disney cake for the party.
It was three layers and had figurines of all of the Disney Princesses. There was Ariel, Cinderella, Aurora, Jasmine, Snow White, Pocahontas, and Mulan. Along with each princess was decor from the movie she starred in.
The girls loved this vanilla princess cake!
The Ultimate Grand Finale
For entertainment the girls tried on dresses and put on a mini fashion show for the parents and each other. They absolutely loved it, but it was what happened at the end of the party that made it the best ever.
I hired Disney Princess impersonators to come to the party and sign autographs and play with the girls. They showed up after the "dress-up" fashion show and made a grand sweeping entrance.
The girls couldn't believe it! I'd have to say they enjoyed the impersonators more than anything. This party was amazing and well worth the money.
If you think of doing something like this for your kids party, it really wasn't as expensive as it sounds. Because I had the impersonators come towards the end of the event instead of throughout it, I was able to get them for an hour each.
Also, the childrens dress shop was a suprisingly affordable space to rent out. They close at 5, so we had it as an evening party on a Saturday night from 5:30 to 8:30.
It was so different than if we had decided to host the party at home. It wouldn't have had the same "high drama" feel to it for all the girls.
