Carnival Birthday Party Ideas : Carnival la Munchkin! For my daughters fourth birthday we had a Carnival theme. This was the best party that we have had for her so far. For her age group they are high energy and needs lots of things to entertain them. Enter the Carnival theme!

To make this as fun and smooth as possible we had to come up with different stations for the kids to do and win prizes. We started with a list of some games that you would typically see at the fair.

1 duck pond
2 fishing
3 basket toss with plastic ball
4 basket ball shoot
5 darts (on an electronic board)
6 a bouncy house
7 pony rides

With our activities selected we set up a central area of tables with chairs for cake and presents. The adult zone was near the entrance and at the tables while the kids had freedom to go from game to game winning candy and small token prizes. The games where manned by friends and family who volunteered.

The party started at 9am when the kids who had been invited started to filter in and the games began. After several hours of free play we had all the kids and adults gather at the center tables to enjoy a hired carnival clown do a magic and balloon show. At the end of the show we crowned my daughter the Queen of the Carnival and gave her a scepter and crown allowing her the authority to have her subjects (the party members) bring to her one by one the gifts they brought.

After all gifts had been given and thank yous exchanged we brought out hot-dogs that we grilled earlier and every one ate enjoying a beautiful mid day meal. After lunch we rounded everyone up for the cake cutting ceremony and let the party wind its self out from there.

It was very fun and my daughter loved every minute of the day. * For ages 4-6
