Baseball Birthday Party Ideas : When my little brother turned six years old, he expressed a desire to have a baseball themed birthday party for all of his friends. As our back yard is not the best for playing baseball in, my parents decided to hold his party at the local little league baseball diamond.

My father and a few other dads helped the little boys set up a full scale baseball game with the guests divided into two teams. One dad would pitch, while the others helped out as base coaches.

Though they tried to make the game as low key as possible, the boys were very competitive and enjoyed the rush of scoring a run or catching the ball to get one of the other team's players out.

The boys had a lot of fun, especially as the game ended in a tie, so no one team was the losing team. Each team complained, saying they should have won, but secretly they were glad that they were not the team who lost.

They then went to the picnic tables nearby for snacks (chips, pretzels, m&ms, popsicles) and cake. The cake was your ordinary round cake, with one exception - it was frosted in white with red dotted lines in the shape of the stitches on a baseball. The boys oohed and aahed over the baseball cake and gobbled it down.

Each one of them gave my brother a present in some way related to sports, because of the theme of his birthday party.

The location of the public baseball diamond was ideal, because it included not only the diamond, but also a playground for the boys and any siblings who came along with the helping dads, picnic tables for food and restrooms for those who drank too much soda.

After loading the children up with sugar and caffeine, my parents and my little brother handed out party bags containing even more sugar in the form of candy from the dollar store that he had helped to pick out.

After waving goodbye to all his guests, we cleaned up the picnic tables and loaded the baseball equipment and food leftovers in the trunk of our car. My little brother was very happy about his baseball birthday party, calling it the best one yet.
