A great birthday party theme for any hockey fan is a Stanley Cup Birthday Party! For my boyfriend’s 23rd birthday, I invited all of his friends over for a Stanley Cup bash.
I baked a cake that looked like the Stanley Cup, which everyone loved! I just used round cake pans, cut them in half, and stacked them on my cookie sheet to assemble the cake. I added some silver frosting, and we had our very own Stanley Cup that tasted great!
At the party, we played hockey trivia, with questions I created. We listened to various songs and the guests had to guess which NHL team’s goal celebration song it was.
We played NHL themed Scrabble and the NHL Original Six Monopoly game. After the board games were played, we headed to the basement for some more fun! I had cleared out some room in the basement (could be a garage or a safe street as well) and assembled two nets. I gathered together some hockey sticks and pucks, and the party guests and the birthday boy had a fun filled game of floor hockey.
After the game, everyone came back upstairs to enjoy some food! I had typical stadium food available, including hot dogs, chicken fingers, fries, peanuts, and popcorn. We also had some beers to add to the fun!
After dinner, we settled down to watch the hockey games that were on that night. Our team, the Boston Bruins, were playing, which made it even better. We had a great time, and even continued with the hockey trivia from earlier during the intermission!
Towards the end of the game, the cake was brought out again. This time, the presents came with it. Of course, my boyfriend received some great gifts from his friends, but to keep with the hockey theme, I had a great present for him: an autographed Bruins jersey!
He loved the party and his friends did too. I definitely recommend a Stanley Cup party for any hockey fan!
