50th games make the party come to life. This one, Fifty Surprises is a hilarious game that will go on through the whole celebration.
What you want to do is get a bunch of easter eggs and cut up slips of paper to go in each one. There should be 50 eggs for 50 years!
Before the big day, spend time writing out funny little practical jokes to pull on the person who is having the birthday.
These statements can be things like:
"Sneak up on ____ and give them a kiss on the cheek."
"Ask _____ about the time that they ______."
"Make a funny toast about _______."
Once you have all the slips written out, put one in each of the fifty eggs. Save one egg for a special grand prize though. It's the incentive to get everyone to participate!
The grand prize can be a fun door prize that you were going to give away at the celebration, or it can be a goofy thing related to the birthday guest of honor. A few ideas (ranging from silly to awesome) are: a baby picture of the 50th guest of honor, two tickets to an event to be shared with the guest of honor, an over the hill gag gift, etc.
Before the big day, hide all 50 of the eggs around the house, putting the 50th in a special place where you remember it's there.
On the day of the party, let everyone know there are fifty surprises hiding around the house. Let them know that there is the most amazing grand prize (but keep it a secret what it is) in one of the eggs. The rules are all fifty of the eggs must be found by the end of the party or the grand prize is forfeit, all actions on the eggs must be done, and all eggs must be brought to you before they are opened.
When someone finds an egg, they bring it to you, and then you make sure they complete the activity written in it. If the main prize egg is found early in the game, you need to ask the person to not reveal it until the end of the party. That will keep people hunting for the eggs!
