16th Birthday Limbo Party Theme

A guy's 16th Birthday party can be really fun based on how you approach it. For my theme my parents threw me a limbo party. It was really fun! We had it outside (luckily my birthday is in the summer so weather wasn't an issue. It was cool this way because people could play outside, and it was easier to clean up later.

For my birthday with a few friends we played spin the bottle, except when the person got picked, they had to limbo in front of everyone! You could also do this where they have to dance in front of everyone, or anything else that is sure to make people laugh.

We also had dancing to music, everyone playing limbo, and just having everyone play a sport together. We did tag football, soccer, and basketball.

For decorating, we got a huge cover for people who wanted to be shaded away from the sun, and lots and lots of junk food (16 year old boys LOVE junk food), and ordered pizza and soda and things!

Decorations were simple. My parents had some signs that said HAPPY BIRTHDAY! taped around the house and balloons, but in the end, being a guy, that part doesn't matter very much. None of the guests really think about that much. They're into the food and the games instead.

A good cake is essential to a good birthday party! Make sure you let your son choose the cake you get. Either a strawberry vanilla or chocolate cake, or a ice cream cake would be great.

All we needed for the party were bags of chips, like cheetos or lays, pizza, decorations, a cake, and cups, plates, forks, spoons and things like that. We had it in our lawn so basically everyone would just sit on chairs we set out and talk, or if they wanted, play sports or hang out on the grass.

Once the night came and it got darker, we all went under the outdoor cover, and played games like limbo to lots of party music. I made the playlist for the music, so it was songs that my friends like and wanted to listen to! (Parents. Don't make the playlist. Even if it's a suprise party. Get one of his friends to do it for you if you have to. Otherwise you could ruin the whole party.)

Overall, the party was really great and it will be too if you do it like that!
